What is the value of a Rainshadow Organics summer CSA share?

We at Rainshadow Organics are excited to share our 2021 Summer CSA sign up with you! Can you believe we’re already dreaming up our summer season in February? In fact, we have already seeded our first round of starts for the 2021 Summer CSA: shallots, leeks, all the onions, green onions, peas, carrots, spinach, and magenta lettuce. And some of these starts won’t be ready to harvest until fall!

The price tag on a CSA share can be daunting. We totally get it. Turns out, you can infuse your life with nutrient-dense, organic ingredients, for about the same daily cost as a latte or a craft beer. AND all of the food is raised right here in Central Oregon by someone you know and trust.

Here is the cost per day of each of our 18 week CSA shares (June 2-September 29, 120 days):

Small Veggie – $4.17/day
Large Veggie – $5.50/day

Small Meat – $3.25/day
Large Meat – $6.20/day

Small Veggie & Meat – $7.29/day
Large Veggie & Meat – $11.58/day

We believe in access at Rainshadow Organics – all people deserve nutrient dense, local, organic food. With that in mind, we have a few different payment options.

Through our Food4All Portal you can:

  • pay for your CSA upfront
  • put a $100 deposit down and then auto-pay monthly.
  • use your credit or debit card
  • or use your SNAP benefits

Use the payment method and system that is best for you and your household, because you have the right to nutrient-dense, chemical-free, organic food that is good for your community and the environment.

In addition to needing your commitment to eat the wide array of food that we grow, and we also need your financial commitment. Your CSA payment or deposit (that latte or pint a day) provides the dollars necessary to prepare our fields with nutrients, repair and improve equipment, purchase seeds and soil, and pay for labor as we prep and plant everything.
Committing to a CSA share can be a big investment in all sorts of ways, but we truly believe that the benefits of our CSA outweigh the challenges, making the investment absolutely worthwhile.
