• $30 one-time sign up fee: this “purchase fee” pays for your share of the herd pay a one time sign up fee to join and then you pay a
• $25 monthly subscription payment: this is your “boarding fees” which pays for the feed, labor, and care of the share of our herd you purchased. For this, you receive 1/2 gallon of milk per week.
• Shared Risks & Rewards: You are responsible for paying board year-round. Your share quantity might be more in the spring and less in the winter depending on what the cows are producing. This means that when the animals are making lots of milk, you will get a bit extra and when they are dry or producing a small amount, then you might see less.

Rainshadow raw milk is just that, 100% milk straight from the cow, born and raised at Rainshadow Organics. No added anything (heat, chemicals, etc.) and we NEVER skim. You always get your milk with all its goodness: cream, nutrients, and flavor.

Our Dairy Queens play a very important roll here at Rainshadow. They are perhaps the most important on-farm tool we have. Their job is to keep our 25-acre in top form. They live on about a third of the field each year. That section is ‘resting’ after growing for two seasons in a row. It is planted in a cover crop and grazed by the dairy herd for the year. At the end of the dairy herd’s time on the cover crop, the soil has been rejuvenated, the cover crop is disced in to add biomass to the soil, and it is ready to provide all the nutrients you rely on in our vegetables and grains.

That means that our raw milk comes from 100% organic cover crop year round, supplemented with hay free of chemicals and GMOs in the winter. Milk you can trust for you and yours!
